The FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) is a six-day competition held every two years, where the world comes to witness record-breaking feats and action-packed races, with swimming stars from all continents. Due to the versatility of modern temporary pool construction, the FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) is the ideal event to stage in any multi-purpose arena.

Music, cuisine, entertainment, shopping and special activities form a key part of the Championships and FINA’s “Market Street” concept creates a vibrant social experience at the venue adding a unique atmosphere that extends the aquatics festival beyond the competition in the pool.

As of the 12th edition of the event in Doha (QAT) 2014, the FINA World Swimming Championships (25m) are being combined with the FINA World Aquatics Convention uniting the business constituent of the international Aquatics community with the world’s elite swimmers.

Current format: Six day competition whereby preliminary heats are held in the morning and Finals are held in the evening. Competition is held in a 25m pool.

Year of introduction: 1993 in Palma de Mallorca (ESP).
